WEST POINT — West Point police are searching for two men suspected of holding another at gunpoint Friday night on Stateline Road then stealing his car.

WPPD Capt. Brian Kelly said officers met the victim in the 100 block of West 8th Street around 8 p.m. The man told officers he was driving southbound on Stateline Road around 7 p.m. when a grey Chevrolet “box-style” car started flashing its headlights behind him, Kelly said.

The victim told police he pulled over on the shoulder of the road and two black males brandishing handguns got out of the Chevrolet. The suspects reportedly ordered the man out of his grey 1969 Ford Mustang, which had Alabama tag VDV252.

One of the suspects jumped inside the Mustang and drove away, traveling north on Stateline Road, the victim told West Point police. The other suspect left in the Chevrolet.

Kelly said the victim was not injured in the carjacking and told officers he walked to the 100 block of West 8th Street where he called police.

The West Point Police Department is still investigating this incident.

The suspects are described as black males, one 5-foot-11 wearing a white T-shirt and the other 6-foot-4 wearing a dark blue shirt.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the West Point Police Department at 706-645-3525 or the Troup County Crime Stoppers at 706-812-1000.
