The Friends of the Library hosts a September “Mega” Book Sale 1–5 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m.–5 p.m. Saturday. For this sale, books will be displayed in the Fackler Room and the Friends Bookshop. It will feature a Brown Bag Sale where buyers can purchase a brown grocery bag for $5 and fill up the bag with books of the buyer’s choice. The sale is open to the public.

Events: A yard sale to benefit Christian education and various projects of the Noon Circle of Loyd Presbyterian Church is 8 a.m.–1 p.m. in the Community Building across from the church, 550 Upper Glass Bridge Road.

Jefferson Street Market featuring local wares and produce is 9:30 a.m. to noon at 625 Jefferson St.

God’s Breadbasket, a food pantry serving Hogansville residents, is open 9 a.m.–noon.

Meetings: The National Alliance on Mental Illness Family hosts support groups for those with a mental illness and for their family and friends at 10:30 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 120 Broad St. in LaGrange, led by trained facilitators. 706-594-4714

LaGrange Art Museum, 112 Lafayette Parkway, hosts the Celebrate Summer art show featuring the work of artists in the Visual Artists Alliance of LaGrange and local artist Sarah Swanson through Sept. 26. Also on display will be painted violins and cellos that were beyond repair from years of use and will be auctioned Sept. 17 to raise money for the LaGrange Symphony Orchestra Guild’s youth programs.
