Troup drops home game to Brookstone

LAGRANGE – The Troup Lady Tigers took a break from their region softball schedule on Wednesday to play their second and final game of the regular season against Brookstone.
Troup scored three runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to take a one-run lead, but it was Brookstone coming away with the 8-6 victory.
Brookstone, which beat Troup 4-1 on Aug. 11, is having an outstanding season and improved to 13-1, while Troup fell to 10-9.
Troup, which is 5-2 in Region 5-AAAA, will return to its region schedule today with a road game against Woodward Academy.
In Wednesday’s game, Chandler Pritchett was 2-for-3, and Amber Arnold, Andrea Nix, Libby Wheeler, Hanna Lane and Kayla Lane each had one hit, and Nix had an RBI.
Trailing 3-1, Troup pushed three runs across in the bottom of the fourth inning to take a one-run lead, but Brookstone came right back with three runs in the top of the fifth.
Troup got as close as one run, but it was unable to completely close the gap again.
