Retired educators to meet

LaGRANGE — The Retired Educators of Troup County group hosts its first meeting of the year Thursday, featuring the state membership chairman, James Twiggs from Baxley, speaking on the importance of all retired educators being a member of the work of Georgia Retired Educators Association.
The GREA works to remain informed about state legislation that will affect active and retired educators. There are currently 25,000 members of GREA, which has a goal to increase to 26,000.
“Standing together we all become stronger in the work we wish to accomplish for students and teachers in Georgia,” said Nancy Sue Laminack, public relations chair for the Troup County Retired Educators Association. “If you are a retired educator living in Troup County, we urge you to come to this first meeting on September 24th.”
The meeting and lunch is set for 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Highland Country Club.
