WEST POINT — The West Point Police Department announced Thursday evening that officers arrested two men in the slaying of a 68-year-old West Point man in May.

Gabriel Antonio “Tony” Love, 27, and Dontavious Billingsley, 20, both of West Point, were booked into the Troup County Jail and charged with the murder of Phillip Huguley.

West Point police said the two men killed Huguley inside a home in the 900 block of East 8th Street. Huguley’s body was discovered by officers May 9.

Investigators said at that time they believed the motive in Huguley’s murder was robbery.

The West Point Police Department said they worked in conjunction with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, Troup County Sheriff’s Office, Georgia Department of Pardons and Paroles and the Troup County Probation Office to investigate the murder and arrest the two suspects.

No further information was available this morning.
