Early voting begins today

LaGRANGE — Early voting begins today in municipal elections across Troup County.
Early voting concludes Oct. 30 and the general election day is scheduled for Nov. 3. Registered voters may cast early ballots at the Troup County Government Center, 100 Ridley Ave., from Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Voters should bring a government-issued ID to vote.
Additionally, a LaGrange City Council candidate forum is slated for today at 6 p.m. at the Del’Avant event space, 141 Main St. The event, sponsored by the LaGrange-Troup County Chamber of Commerce, is free and open to the public.
Voters may check their registration status by visiting the Georgia Secretary of State’s My Voter Page at http://www.mvp.sos.ga.gov.

• Willie T. Edmondson, incumbent, to run for re-election to the District 2C post on LaGrange City Council.
• Nathan Gaskin to run for the District 2C post on LaGrange City Council.
• Richard L. Kimbrough to run for the District 2B post on LaGrange City Council.
• LeGree McCamey, incumbent, to run for re-election to the District 2B post on LaGrange City Council.
• Mark Mitchell to run for the District 1C post on LaGrange City Council.
• Bobby Traylor, incumbent, to run for re-election to the District 1C post on LaGrange City Council.
In Hogansville
• George Bailey, incumbent, to run for re-election to the Post 4 seat on Hogansville City Council.
• Elizabeth Brummett to run for the Post 4 seat on Hogansville City Council.
