The LaGrange Lady Grangers are still perfect.

LaGrange, which opened its season with a victory over Newnan on Monday, made it two in a row with a 40-33 road win over Mundy’s Mill a day later.

It’s been an impressive start to the season for the Lady Grangers, who thumped Central-Carroll in a preseason game last week before beginning the season with back-to-back road wins.

Aryan Dozier led LaGrange with 16 points, and Chnairiea Strozier added 13 points.

LaGrange head coach Jan Fendley praised Strozier for her contributions during the game.

Fendley said Strozier “played well and showed great leadership for her team.”

LaGrange trailed by two points at the half, but it outscored Mundy’s Mill 22-13 in the second half to get the hard-earned win.

LaGrange led 11-10 after the first period, with Dozier getting off to a quick start with five points.

Strozier, after going scoreless in the first quarter, hit a 3-pointer and scored five points in the second period, but the Lady Grangers trailed 20-18 at the half.

The Lady Grangers only scored eight points in the third period, but they gave up just four points, so they took a 26-24 into the final quarter.

Over the game’s final eight minutes, LaGrange outscored Mundy’s Mill 14-9 to get the win.

Dozier was 6-of-7 from the free-throw line in the fourth period to help LaGrange hang on, and Strozier added four points in the final quarter.

LaGrange will be at home against Woodward Academy on Tuesday in its home regular-season debut.
