LaGRANGE — The Sons of LaFayette Male Choir will offer a special holiday gift to the LaGrange and Troup County community Saturday with a free event at 3 p.m.

The Sons choir presents the special Happy Holiday Happening event at First Presbyterian Church.

“This is an event, not a concert as such, and will involve choir and audience interaction to create a casual, exciting atmosphere for all ages,” said Harrison Cain, president of the Sons of LaFayette. “The ‘gift’ part of the event is that it is free! That’s right, free for all ages. The Happening will combine music by the choir, holiday singing by the audience, dramatic readings and of course, lots of happy feelings.”

While the Sons choir wants to treat the community to music of the season, the group also wants to help community service group Harmony House, an organization that provides emergency shelter, crisis intervention, education and advocacy for adults and children who are victims of domestic violence.

Harmony House also provides assistance through personal education and training to help clients break the cycle of domestic violence and regain control of their lives.

“The Sons of LaFayette choir feels it is important to give their full support to back the actions of Harmony House,” Cain said. “The choir members are happy to lend their time and energy to assist Harmony House. While the event is free, donations will be taken at the door to assist Harmony House.”
