Woman pepper sprayed in grocery store
A woman accused of trying to start an altercation inside the Piggly Wiggly at 511 South Greenwood Street on Monday morning around 10 a.m. did not have a pleasant shopping experience — after she was pepper sprayed and arrested by police.
According to another female in the store, the woman began following her and making harassing comments towards her. The female said every time she stopped, the woman made threats of bodily harm.
She told police she became fearful something bad was going to happen, so she pepper sprayed the woman.
According to the female, the woman is angry at her over a recent court proceeding.
The woman told police she was simply trying to ask the female a question about comments she made towards her son.
The woman was treated at the scene by LaGrange Fire.
Officers watched in store surveillance video and decided to arrest the woman. She was cited for disorderly conduct.
