Wednesday wrecks in Troup County cause injuries, traffic delays

LaGRANGE — At least four people were injured in separate wrecks Wednesday afternoon in Troup County.
Two drivers were hurt in a wreck at West Point and Potts roads after a LaGrange Healthcare van pulled out in front of a 2008 Saturn Aura sedan, according to a Georgia State Patrol report. The van, a 2005 GMC Savana, was eastbound on Potts Road and turned onto West Point Road, where it collided with the southbound sedan, the report stated.
The vehicles collided on the front ends. The driver of the healthcare van was taken to West Georgia Medical Center, where his condition was unavailable this morning. The driver of the Saturn was taken by ambulance to Midtown Medical Center in Columbus. His condition also was unavailable.
Two wrecks also were reported about an hour apart at Interstate 85 and Lafayette Parkway. In the first, reported about 3 p.m., a Cadillac SRX sport utility vehicle slammed into the rear end of a Ford Fusion sedan at the southbound exit ramp on Interstate 85 at the parkway.
One person was transported from the scene by ambulance, however information was unavailable this morning which vehicle the patient occupied. A report was unavailable from Georgia State Patrol this morning.
The second wreck was reported shortly after 4 p.m. on the northbound I-85 lane near the Lafayette Parkway exit. A pickup truck overturned, injuring an occupant, who suffered a gash to his arm, according to a call to 911.
No further information was available this morning. A state patrol report for the incident had not been completed.
Two other wrecks were reported on Interstate 85 on Wednesday near the Hogansville exit, but no one was injured, according to GSP reports. One was reported in the northbound lane near mile marker 26 and the other in the southbound lane at mile marker 28.
