LaGRANGE — LaGrange police investigators continue to look for the suspect who shot a 30-year-old man inside a home in the 900 block of Georgia Avenue just after 2:30 p.m. Monday afternoon.
LaGrange Police Lt. Dale Strickland said the victim was shot at least once in the arm. He was airlifted to Grady Memorial hospital in Atlanta.
According to Strickland, after the victim was shot, he ran to nearby homes looking for help and was located by officers in a driveway across the street from his house.
At this point, investigators believe there was at least one witness to the shooting, Strickland said.
He also added the incident was not a “stranger-on-stranger ” crime, meaning investigators believe the victim and the suspect knew each other.
Strickland said investigators are working to identify both the witness and the suspect.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call LaGrange police at 706-883-2603 or Troup County Crime Stoppers at 706-812-1000.
