Columnist: Troup County is a great place to live

A few years ago Jay Johnson and Will Mines got a building science degree from Auburn University. A few years before Will, Jay went to Nashville, a really hot market, and both did well at their jobs.
The same week both got job offers from a local company, Langford Construction, and came back the same week. Later on the owners decided to retire and Will went with Freeman Construction out of Columbus but lives in LaGrange.
Jay went with Principle Construction and also loves living back close to home and friends.
Now what is my point? Both young men had great degrees in building science, they could get a job anywhere, they both went to the big city but came back to Troup County.
Each of them saw opportunity here, returned and are playing a big role in helping LaGrange grow.
Yes, young men like this are our future leaders! As the old saying goes, “Isn’t it great!”
I know their family loves them being back. I know Joey and I like seeing them and the grandchildren.
Yes, we are all blessed! Now Jay is vice president/senior project manager for Principle Construction.
