LaGRANGE — Organizers of the Hillside Art, Music and Food Festival and 5K run last week announced the winner of a logo designing contest that will represent the festival.
Lisa Ng’s design was selected from among 10 entries in a competition sponsored by Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia, said Ben Wheeler, a festival organizer.
“All of the submissions were impressive, which made it difficult to select just one logo,” Wheeler said. “Ultimately, the judges did choose one logo that represents the collective involvement and diversity of the community.”
Ng’s tree-themed logo “represents Hillside because it worked on a few levels: a tree signifies new life, growth and strength. Since the Hillside neighborhood has been undergoing revitalization, these qualities felt appropriate,” Wheeler said.
“The leaves of the tree represent all the many diverse residents of Hillside,” he added. “The leaves are also coming together to create a heart, which shows the community being unified through this festival. At the end of the branches, three symbols represent the different parts of the festival.”
Her logo will be seen throughout the festival on 5K T-shirts, banners and much more.
All of the logos entered into the contest will be on display at the festival inside Hillside Station, 625 Jefferson St., during the festival on April 16 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The 5K race begins at 8 a.m.
