LaGrange police continue search for suspect in park shooting

LaGRANGE — Investigators with the LaGrange Police Department continue to search for an unidentified man who fired several gunshots at two teens in Calumet Park, 99 Union St., about noon Tuesday.

Officers found the teen victims, a male and female, uninjured.

They told investigators an African-American man walked up to them while they were talking on a bench near the playground and splash pad.

The teens said they got into an argument with the man, who then took out a weapon and started firing at them. The suspect fled toward Ware Street.

According to the teens, the male was wearing dark clothes and a red or dark-colored hat.

LPD investigators captured part of the incident on surveillance cameras at Calumet Park. The video is posted on the LaGrange Police Department and Daily News Facebook pages.
