LaGRANGE — Traffic investigators with the LaGrange Police Department said a man ejected in a head-on collision on South Ogletree Street about 2 a.m. on Feb. 3 has died from his injuries.

Dexter Lindsey, 33, of LaGrange, passed away Monday, confirmed LPD Cpl. Donald LaMee. He said the cause of death was head trauma suffered in the accident.

According to LPD, officers responding to the crash found Lindsey in the roadway after being ejected from an Isuzu Trooper.

LaMee said Lindsey’s body was discovered 33 feet away from the SUV. Lindsey was traveling at a high rate of speed and not wearing a seat belt, Lamee said.

Investigators determined the man entered oncoming traffic as he rounded a curve and collided with a Nissan Maxima, causing the SUV to leave the road and flip over.

The other driver did not sustain serious injuries.

LPD said they have closed their investigation into the wreck.
