Barbecue to benefit Bellevue

The LaGrange Woman’s Club BBQ is 11 a.m.–1:30 p.m. March 16 at the Bellevue parking lot, 204 Ben Hill St. Tickets are $10. Dessert will be included. LaGrange Woman’s Club members will be selling tickets. Anyone interested may contact Judy Bledsoe at 706-882-7611 for more information. All proceeds go for the preservation of Bellevue.

Woman’s club to host Pie Day contest

The Chipley Woman’s Club, 132 S. McDougald Ave. in Pine Mountain, is sponsoring a pie contest April 2. Proceeds go toward maintaining the historic Chipley Woman’s Club house. Entry fee is $5. There are three categories: nut, fruit or custard. Bakers wanting to enter should call 706-663-2250 for rules, to register and for more information. Contestants should bring two identical pies to the club between 9 and 10 a.m. April 2. Judging begins at 10:15 a.m. Entries will be sold by the slice and whole pies auctioned off at 1 p.m.

Golf tournament to benefit Heart of West Georgia

The Heart of West Georgia hosts its 15th annual golf tournament April 14 at Highland Country Club. Companies or individuals wishing to participate can choose from five levels of sponsorship. Those interested may also donate prizes or gifts and receive recognition at the tournament and the group’s website. The Heart of West Georgia raises heart disease awareness and prevention, and has donated 170 AED units to various area agencies. More information is available at heartofwestgeorgia.org.

Rotary Club hosts golf benefit tournament

The LaGrange Rotary Club’s annual Youth Challenge Golf Tournament is set for April 21 at the Highland Country Club. Registration for the four-person scramble is open. Registration for a team is $400. Checks should be made payable to Rotary Youth Challenge Program. Lunch, driving range time and registration is 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. followed by a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m. For more information or to register a team, contact Cathy Smith at csmith@dashlagrange.org or 706-298-0581.

Lions Club golf tournament to benefit Salvation Army

The LaGrange Lions Club hosts a golf tournament April 28 at Highland Country Club. Registration for four-person teams begins at noon with a 1 p.m. shotgun start. Prizes will be awarded to teams and individuals, and a silent auction will be held. Costs to be a team sponsor is $400 or $100 per individual; team and hole sponsors, $500; hole sponsor, $150; scoreboard sponsor, $75. The club is also seeking donations for prizes in the auction.
