Columnist: I stayed, enjoyed the service

Years ago I had one of my customers ask me to be in charge of her estate and make sure the money went to her church she had gone to for 54 years.
Yes, as she said, people that had not come to see her in 60 years tried to come and tell me why they should get the money — they loved her so much. You got that part never came to see her or call her.
The lawyer and myself had to explain that she loved her church the most and that was where the money would go. She was a member of the Assembly of God on the Davis Road bypass across from Mountville Mills.
Each year when I had money I would take and give to her church. While doing this I noticed two things. They do not have an old fashioned choir, they have a worship band that is loaded with superstar talent, a drummer, organist, three guitar players, one male singer, one lady singer and three very talented teenager singers.
This worship band could go on the road because they are very good! These are three teenagers with talent to be on TV.
Their pastor, I will say, is the Garth Brooks of preachers. His name is Jason Branson, who can tell a story each week like a young Joel Osteen.
Yes, the man can paint a perfect picture with words that you can remember two weeks later. I was there to give her check, but boy did I enjoy the service.
