LAGRANGE – If everything goes well this week, the LaGrange Grangers will find themselves at .500 in the region when the final game has been played.

The Grangers, who are coming off a winless week, are 1-4 in Region 1-AAAAA, and they’ll look to turn that around with three wins in the next four days.

First up is today’s home game against the Hardaway Hawks, and LaGrange will be back home on Thursday to play Carver.

LaGrange ends the week with a road game against Carver on Friday.

LaGrange began its region schedule by splitting a pair of games with Columbus, but it came up empty in all three of its region games last week.

After dropping a road game to Shaw, LaGrange ended the week with back-to-back losses to Northside.

Fortunately for the Grangers, they’ve got plenty of time to make up some ground since each of the region teams are playing 18 region games.

LaGrange needs to finish fourth or higher in the seven-team region to qualify for the state playoffs.

Today’s game will be a challenge.

Hardaway (8-2 overall) is having a superb season, and it is tied for first place in the region with a 4-1 record.

Carver is winless in the region.

Also this week, the Callaway Cavaliers will continue their Region 5-AAA schedule with three games against Central-Carroll.

Callaway will host Central-Carroll today at 5:30 p.m., and the teams will play a doubleheader in Carrollton on Friday.

Callaway opened its region schedule by winning two of three games against Haralson County last week.

Central-Carroll, meanwhile, is looking to get things on track after losing its first three region games to Cedartown last week.

The Troup Tigers are 3-0 in Region 5-AAAA after sweeping Woodward Academy last week, and they’ll look to keep it going this week with three games against Carrollton.

Carrollton will be the host team today and Thursday, and Troup will be at home on Wednesday.
