Events: Jefferson Street Market featuring local wares and produce is 9:30 a.m. to noon at 625 Jefferson St.

A 151st commemorative event of the Battle of West Point is set at Fort Tyler on 6th Avenue in West Point. The fort will be open 10 a.m.–5 p.m. for tours and activities. From 7:30 p.m.–10 p.m. attendees can experience the fort by candle light and walk among the luminaries along the path to the fort. Free and open to the public.

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., Theta Xi Omega chapter, hosts a Zumba-like exercise event, AKAathon, at noon at William Griggs Recreational Center. Five recyclable items are required to enter the event, which will be hosted by instructor Kimberly Little.

East Vernon Baptist Church WMU hosts a garden tea party at 2–4 p.m. featuring world crafts. Proceeds will benefit women from impoverished nations who are subjected to bondage and human trafficking.

The Active Life wellness center, 140 Ragland St., hosts dancing 7–10 p.m. with Jimmy Smith and New River Band. Cost is $5 per person. Adults of all ages welcome.

Meetings: Self Help Harbor, 909 Stonewall St., hosts AA meetings 10:30 a.m. for women, 1 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Meetings: Self Help Harbor, 909 Stonewall St., hosts AA meetings at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Celebrate Recovery, a faith-based recovery program, meets at 3 p.m. at Hogansville First Baptist Church.

Churches: Callaway Baptist Church hosts discipleship training, youth and children’s classes at 5 p.m.

Uplifting Your Faith Ministries, 104 Youngs Mill Road, hosts spiritual counseling/healing at 5 p.m. with Bishop R.L. Darden.

Confidence Missionary Baptist Church, 705 Colquitt St., hosts Spring Revival at 6 p.m. Sunday and 7 p.m. Monday with guest pastor Tracy Neal, Leverette Hill Baptist Church.

Events: A beginner scrapbook class is offered at the Active Life Center on Ragland Street at 1 p.m. There is no cost for the class. A registration form and supply list can be picked up at the center.

The Alcohol Prevention Project and Troup County Prevention Coalition present the free event Strengthening Communities Educational Town Hall Meeting 5-8 p.m. at the Mike Daniel Recreation Center, 1220 Lafayette Parkway. The event features a group discussion and guest speakers.

LaGrange Art Museum hosts Toddler Thursday for 3 to 5 year olds and an accompanying adult. Each class will introduce toddlers to art and the Museum through age-appropriate short stories, gallery activities and an art activity. Meetings: The West Georgia Health Board of Trustees meets 5:15 p.m. in the Board Room of West Georgia Medical Center.

The Troup County Board of Education meets at 5:30 p.m. at the Administrative Services Center at 100 N. Davis Road.

The Troup County Democratic Party committee meets 6 p.m. at the Williams J. Griggs Center, 716 Glenn Robertson Drive in LaGrange.

Exhibits

Legacy Museum on Main, 136 Main St. in LaGrange, hosts the exhibit Lifting More Voices: Early Troup County Black History through Sept. 16. The museum is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday and usually the first and third Saturdays of each month from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. To check Saturday openings or schedule a group visit, call 706-884-1828.
