Dear editor,

This is in reply to Mr. Gary Wood’s letter in the Thursday, April 28, edition of the LaGrange Daily News.

I was in the tax commissioner’s office in October buying tags and was approached asking me to support Bill Hunnicutt for this position.

In November I was in the tax commissioner’s office again with many people in line to pay the county taxes. Mr. Wood and Bill Hunnicutt were at the door shaking hands and making introductions. I was very shocked at this taking place in our tax-supported salaries’ office. It did not seem ethical to me at that time.

Do (tax commissioner candidates) Mr. (Shane) Frailey and Mr. (Ronnie) LeFevers have the same opportunity to spend time becoming familiar with office routines in this office?

Mr. Wood has made some good changes with a friendly, competent staff over the past 15 1/2 years. I am very disappointed with the way he’s publishing his supporting of Bill Hunnicutt.

Thank you,

Hazel Scott
