LaGRANGE — One teen faces felony charges after he and a group of friends allegedly exchanged gunfire with a second group of males Sunday on Adams Road.

Hunter Mowers, 19, of Troup County, was charged with aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

Investigators with the Troup County Sheriff’s Office said they also recovered three handguns at the time of Mowers’ arrest.

According to investigators, patrol deputies notified them after two males were discovered severely beaten. After the attack, the two victims and their friends began searching for the group that committed the alleged assault, investigators said.

The victims and their friends reportedly found the people involved in the beating and the two groups exchanged gunshots on Adams Road in the southern part of Troup County, stated officials.

Investigators said both vehicles were damaged by gunfire, but no one was hurt in the shooting.

It was unclear as of press time to which group Mower allegedly belonged.

More arrests are anticipated, stated investigators.
