Events: Jefferson Street Market featuring local wares and produce is 9:30 a.m. to noon at 625 Jefferson St.

Friends of LaGrange Memorial Library hosts the First Saturday Book Sale 10 a.m.–2 p.m. in the Friends of the Library Book Shop at the library on Alford Street.

Hogansville Active Life center, 407 Church St., hosts a dance with Jimmy Smith and the New River Band starting at 7 p.m. Admission is $5. Open to all adults.

Meetings: The West Georgia chapter of Fort Valley State University Alumni meets at 10 a.m. at the William Griggs Recreation Center.

Self Help Harbor, 909 Stonewall St., hosts AA meetings 10:30 a.m. for women, 1 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Churches: Hogansville Saint James United Methodist Church, 401 Granite St., hosts its annual yard sale 8 a.m.–3 p.m. Household items, children’s clothes and shoes, furniture, hot dogs, stew, drinks and sweets.

Celebrate Recovery, a faith-based recovery program, meets at 3 p.m. at Hogansville First Baptist Church.

Churches: Mount Beulah Baptist Church celebrates its 133rd anniversary at 2 p.m. with guest speaker bishop Donald Lancaster and guest church Living by Faith Worship Center. Dinner served.

Sardis Baptist Church, 1308 Lindsey St., hosts its homecoming service at 2 p.m Guest speaker is elder C.M. Chivers of Faith Temple Church of Deliverance.

Eastside Missionary Baptist Church, 1016 Mason St. in LaGrange, hosts its annual Men’s Day celebration at 3 p.m. with guest speaker the Rev. Cameron Thomas of Birmingham, Ala. Special musical guest is The Pine Mountain Male Chorus.

Callaway Baptist Church hosts discipleship training, youth and children’s classes at 5 p.m.


Events: A beginner scrapbook class is offered at the Active Life Center on Ragland Street at 1 p.m. There is no cost for the class. A registration form and supply list can be picked up at the center.

Meetings: Reservations are due for the Thursday Lunch Club, which meets at noon in the fellowship hall of First United Methodist Church on Thursday. Cost is $6 per person. Call 706-884-4635 or email to reserve a space.

Legacy Museum on Main, 136 Main St. in LaGrange, hosts the exhibit Lifting More Voices: Early Troup County Black History through Sept. 16.
