Student wins painted beehive contest

Recent Callaway High School graduate Judy Kim stands with Brad Myers, president of the Troup County Association of Beekeepers, during the first Market on Main of the year on Saturday. During the event, Kim won the painted beehive contest organized by the beekeepers’ association. Art students from Callaway High School painted beehives that were put on display at the market Saturday and voted on by attendees. Kim received a $25 gift certificate, T-shirt, tote bag, 1 pound of local honey and five free car washes from LaGrange Toyota. Kim will attend the University of Georgia in fall.
