THINC students honored

LaGRANGE — THINC College and Career Academy held its first student honors night on May 17. A total of 129 awards were presented to students during the event, which was emceed by THINC board member John Asbell.

Awards were given to 39 distinguished pathway completers, those who earned an A average in the three pathway courses, including 17 in the four business pathways, three in the two engineering pathways, three in the two drawing and design pathways, and 16 in the three marketing pathways.

In addition, 22 students received certified pathway completer awards, having earned a passing grade on their End of Pathway Assessment.

“It’s been an incredible first year at THINC, and we are so proud of all that our students have achieved,” said THINC CEO Kathy Carlisle. “We set high expectations here at THINC, and our students have proven that they’re capable of meeting and even exceeding those levels. Of course, a huge thank you goes to our instructors and staff who have diligently worked with and supported our students throughout the year.”

Those honored in their pathways are:

Business Accounting Pathway

Alexis Pilgrim and Janay Tigner.

Business and Technology Pathway

Shermecia Harris, Mariah Hoard, Brianna Johnson, Martez Kelly, Laniya Lancaster, Kelsey Lance, Kamaria Porter, Codirra Rutledge and Desten Thompson.

Entrepreneurship Pathway

Desiree Bailey, Treon Dozier, Phillip McMillan, James Figiel and Tanaya Tucker.

Financial Services Pathway

Janay Tigner.

Engineering Pathway

Phillip Johnson and Duncan McClung.

Electronics Pathway

Ryan Fuller.

Architectural Drawing & Design Pathway

Carter Dagenhart and Will Johnson.

Engineering Drawing & Design Pathway

Demetrius Dean.

Fashion, Merchandising, and Retailing Pathway
