Runoff election results

LaGRANGE — The votes have been counted and unofficial totals show Cathy Hunt as the apparent winner in the runoff for the Board of Education District 5 seat.

Former West Point Mayor Drew Ferguson took a big lead in Troup County for his bid for Georgia’s 3rd U.S. Congressional District with almost 1,500 more votes than opponent Mike Crane, however totals from other counties in the district will need to be calculated before a winner is apparent for the Republican candidacy.

8:50 p.m. — Totals all precincts reporting:

3rd Congressional District (Troup only)

Ferguson leads Crane, 2,466 to 1,085.

7:45 — Absentee and early voting shows Drew Ferguson ahead of Mike Crane in Troup County for the 3rd Congressional District race and Cathy Hunt ahead of John Asbell for the Board of Education District 5 seat. (Absentee and early voting numbers will be included in precinct totals.)

7:35 p.m. — The polls have closed and precincts are starting to deliver ballots to the Troup County Government Center to be counted. We will update the results as they are released.
