LaGRANGE — Grammy nominated band Needtobreathe took the stage at Sweetland Amphitheatre on Saturday night as part of their Tour de Compadres 2016.
Needtobreathe was joined by opening acts John Mark McMillan and Mat Kearney for the concert. Needtobreathe is one of the biggest acts to appear at Sweetland to date, and the amphitheatre was sold out of tickets for the show.
“I think they have a really raw sound, and I like it,” said concert attendee Joseph Hamilton about the band. “A raw sound and a lot of energy.”
The American Christian rock band from South Carolina has released six studio albums, and it has won 10 Gospel Music Awards. It was nominated for a Grammy last year.
“It’s exciting to see a band like this come to LaGrange,” said Cailin Allen, who has been a fan of the band for several years.
Sweetland Amphitheatre’s next scheduled event is the Sweetland Craft Beer and Music Festival on Oct. 8. Tickets can be purchased at sweetland.events/events-tickets/.
