Columnist: Never underestimate Trump

There are many things I don’t like about Donald J. Trump. He’s one of the biggest flip-floppers I have ever seen. He has changed his mind innumerable times concerning immigration, Islam, birtherism and other politicians.

Trump unfortunately respects the Russian dictator Vladimir Putin. In recent weeks Putin has joined the Syrian government in bombing thousands of innocent citizens. Many little children burned to death because of the bombs.

I consider Putin to be an instrument of the devil. Yet, Trump continues to believe in him.

I am a progressive Democrat whose heroes are Franklin Roosevelt and Theodore Roosevelt. However, I am convinced that Donald J. Trump will win in November. I tell my Republican friends in Troup County that they should sleep well at night. Their candidate Donald Trump will be our next president.

You should never underestimate Donald J. Trump. One cogent reason is that Trump’s supporters are very committed to him. Millions will go to the voting precincts regardless of the weather. To be honest, Clinton’s followers are not that committed to her. If it rains, they won’t show up to vote.

Another reason you should never underestimate Trump is that Hillary Clinton just isn’t a good candidate. She has made so many mistakes. One major mistake is that she did not choose Bernie Sanders to be her vice president.

Clinton desperately needs the votes of millennials. If Sanders were on the ticket, these young people would rally behind her. Without him she will not get their vote.

Clinton has absolutely no charisma. If you want to see a charismatic person, look at Michelle Obama. She has more charisma in her little finger than Clinton has in her whole body.

Millions of Americans are suffering from Clinton fatigue. They are sick of the Bush family and the Clintons. Even if she were a formidable candidate, she still wouldn’t win because people desperately want a fresh face.

After the first presidential debate some political pundits were saying that Trump’s performance was so bad that he would never win. They foolishly underestimate Trump. Trump is like a cat with nine lives. When people run him down, he always bounces back.

Trump deserves a lot of credit. Most people erroneously assumed he would never defeat his competent rivals in the primary debates. They went on to say that Clinton would easily beat him. The critics should wake up to the fact that this man, Donald J. Trump, will win the presidency. Those who have consistently underestimated him have turned out to be foolish.

Trump may turn out to be a great president. You never really know who is going to be a great president until that person takes office. I just hope that he will be able to unite us and especially help the people who have been treated unfairly by the politicians.
