Brenda Garrett-Dorman

Brenda Garrett-Dorman, 74, passed away on November 30, 2016 in LaGrange, Ga. Brenda was born, one of ten children, to the late Ted and Ellie Garrett of Union, SC. She graduated Jonesville High School a year early to attend Business School in Spartanburg SC.
Known affectionately as”Polly” to her family, Brenda was a beautiful and creative woman who loved to laugh. She was an artist who drew much of her inspiration from one of her favorite places, the beach. She loved swimming and searching for seashells which would often find their way into her art pieces. From her shell pieces and paintings to her home projects, decorating and design, Brenda taught us all to approach life in the most fun, loving way possible.
While living in LaGrange, she was employed by Home Depot and Lowes as a designer.
She is preceded in death by her brothers, Mac Garrett, Donnie Garrett and Ted Garrett Jr.
She is survived by her husband George E Dorman of LaGrange Ga; daughters Karen Reynolds (Rick) of Ocala Fl, Jill Obenchain (John) of Logansport IN and grandson Brian Reynolds (Katherine) of Ocala Fl.; siblings, Kenneth Garrett (Becky) of Pacolet SC, Frances Thomas of Inman SC, Jerry Garrett (Brenda Ann) of Pacolet SC, Martha Hall (Don) of Pacolet SC, Tommy Garrett (Nancy) of Prosperty SC, Fred Garrett (Barbara) of Boiling Springs SC; numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by two very special and beloved friends, Wilma Anderson and Sandy Taylor, both of LaGrange Ga.
