Min. Ebenitt Davenport, Sr.

Min. Ebenitt Davenport, Sr., 74, of 149 E. Greenwich Circle passed away on Sunday nite at his home.

 

Ebenitt Davenport, Sr. the son of the late Charlie Clifford and Emma Davenport was born in Lagrange.

 

He was a Class of 1961 graduate of  East Depot High School.

 

Ebenitt joined the Church of Christ at an early age and faithfully attended Rising Grove

Baptist Church until his health declined.

 

He was married to Alma Marie (Smith) Davenport for 25 years and in that union was born three sons.

 

Ebenitt was a Vietnam War Veteran and a retired 20 year employee of Interface Flooring.

 

He leaves to cherish his memory; special friend Clara Brewer of Lagrange, three sons; Ebenitt Davenport, Jr., Calvin(Elizabeth) Davenport and Victor(Javonna) Davenport all of Lagrange, four brothers; Clifford(Ella) Davenport, Theotis(Anne Ruth) Davenport, Donald(Betty) Davenport all of Lagrange and Dewery(Mary) Davenport of Chattanooga, TN.,  five grandchildren, two stepchildren, nephews, nieces, family and special nephew Eric  C. Davenport.

 

Ebenitt is preceded in death in additions to his parents by one sister, two brothers and two grandchildren.

 

Graveside services with military honors will be held on Saturday at 2 pm in Southview Cemetery with Brother Anthony Hixon officiating.

 

The family will receive friends at his home at 149 E. Greenwich Circle.
