Mrs. Icy Dell Thornton passed away December 9, 2016, at Noland Hospital in Anniston, AL.  She was preceded in death by her parents Eddie B. and Ethel Bell Heard, Husband, Lovett “Good Hustler” Thornton, SR., daughter, Diane Thornton, son, Jimmy Thornton, grandson, James Moore, JR., and her daughter in-law, Inez Almon Thornton.
She leave to cherish her memories three daughters, Ernestine (Martee, SR) Morris, Anniston, AL, Ethel Thornton, College Park, GA, Minister Vivian (Minister Frederick, SR.), Anniston, AL.  Five sons, Rev. Lovett Thornton, JR., West Point, GA, Eddie (Marilyn) Thornton, Harvest, AL, Robert (Stephanie) Thornton, LaGrange, GA, Henry (Valdra) Thornton, Harvest, AL, Earnest (Pamela) Thornton, Bowdon, GA.  29 grandchildren 33 great grandchildren, and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends. Homecoming service will be held at Greater Thankful Baptist Church on December 17, 2016 at 11:00am CST. Rev. Byron Jackson, Pastor, Dr. P.Q. English eulogist interment will follow at Restlawn Memory Gardens in LaGrange, GA.
