Mrs. Geraldine Barton Herring, 90, of LaGrange passed away December 27, 2016 at the Florence Hand Nursing Home.

Mrs. Herring was born April16, 1926 in Montgomery Alabama the daughter of the late George & Lillian McFarland Barton.  She had made her home in LaGrange for the past 55 years.  During her working years she worked for and retired from the Belk Department Store.  She was a member of First Baptist Church and enjoyed attending Franklin Road Baptist and First Assembly of God.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Freeman Herring and Son John Alan Hartley.

She is survived by her Son and Daughter in law:

Charles and Darlene Herring, LaGrange, Ga

Son: Arthur Freeman (Buddy) Herring, Montgomery, AL

Daughter:  Jaqueline Coulter. Toledo, OH

Sister and Brother-in-law: Francine & Lamar Thornton, Montgomery, AL

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday morning from the graveside in Shadowlawn Cemetery. The Rev’s L.J. Wood and Hope Taylor will officiate.

The family will receive friends 45 minutes prior to the service hour at the Hunter-Allen-Myhand Funeral Home.

In Lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donation can be made to the First Baptist Church on the Square, Hospice LaGrange, or Florence Hand Home in memory of Mrs. Geraldine Herring.
