Jerry Lanier Ferrell, a native of LaGrange passed away Thursday in Columbus, Georgia.

 

He was born October 17, 1957 to the late, Perry Thornton, Sr. and Josephine T. Ferrell.

 

He was educated in the Troup County School System and was reared in the “Thomastown” Community and attended Church there. He was employed with the LaGrange Fire Dept for several years.

 

Survivors include his son, Jason Bellamy, Sr., Columbus, GA; sisters, Dedra Thornton, Ayesha Thornton, Pamer Allen; brothers, Jeffery Ferrell and Perry (Jackie) Thornton, Jr.; five grandchildren; step mother, Elizabeth THornton; sister-in-law, Jackie Thornton; and brother-in-law, Jerome Allen; aunts, Imogene Byrd and Maude Nelson; several nieces, nephews, relatives, and special friends.

 

The Celebration of Life Service will be Friday at 1:00 PM at Smyrna Baptist Church. Pastor Lonnie B. Walls will officiate. Burial will follow Southview Cemetery.
