Mr. Arthur Lester Cheeves, age 85, of LaGrange, passed away on January 12, 2017 at the Florence Hand Home.  Mr. Cheeves was born on July 21, 1931 to the late Walter Cheeves and Maggie Camp Cheeves.   He proudly served his country in the United States Army and worked for many years at the American Can Company.  In addition to her parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Perry Cheeves and Alan Suit and one daughter, Connie Tingle.  Survivors include his wife, Betty Cheeves of LaGrange; sons, Van Cheeves and his wife Deborah of Fayetteville and Kirby Cheeves and his wife Stephanie of Newnan; brothers, Ricky Cheeves and Merlin Cheeves; sisters, Zelma Farr, Glenda Shadix and Runell Cheeves; 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; extended family and friends.  Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 15, 2017 at 2:00 pm at the HIGGINS HILLCREST CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME IN NEWNAN with Rev.
