Troup basketball teams win at Cedartown

It was a winning night for the Troup High basketball teams.
Facing Region 5-AAAA foe Cedartown, the Lady Tigers won 54-33, and the Tigers won 55-41.
In the boys’ game, Jarrious Jefferson scored 18 points and had 10 assists to help the Tigers improve to 1-2 in region play.
Kobe Hudson added 14 points and made three 3-pointers for the Tigers, and Montez Crowe added 11 points and was 9-of-13 from the free-throw line.
Hudson scored all 14 of his points in the second half as the Tigers pulled away.
In the girls’ game, Shaqoya Gilbert made three 3-pointers and scored 17 points to lead the Lady Tigers.
Jedda Madden added 14 points, with eight of those points coming in the fourth quarter, and Kwyneshia Spence scored 13 points and was 6-of-6 from the free-throw line.
Troup was 10-of-12 from the line as a team.
LAFAYETTE CHRISTIAN: The Cougars fell to Central-Christian 74-41 on Friday, with Jonathan Parham leading the way with 18 points, and Ross Clifton added 10 points.
Mitch Crandall had six steals.
The Lady Cougars also fell short.
