Estelle McGruder passed away Friday at Magnolia Manor Nursing Home in Columbus, Georgia.

 

She was born April 30, 1931 in Chipley, Georgia to the late, Ed and Susie Dunlap.

 

She was a member of St. John CME Church in Pine Mountain, Georgia. She retired as a cook at Harris County Middle School; and also, worked as a cook at Gill’s McQuire and Callaway Gardens Beach.

 

Survivors include her children, Ruben (Janice) McGruder, Jr., Lawrenceville, GA; Willie Mae Phillips, Hamilton, GA; Ruby (James), Miami, FL; and Vivian Shepherd, Pine Mountain, GA; six grandchildren, Tecia (Kennard) McKay, Shun McGruder, Kinta Williams, Reshunda Mahone, Joycelyn Mahone, and Shannon Shepherd; six great grandchildren; one brother, Eddie Dunlap, Columbus, OH; one brother-in-law, Willie Hudson McGruder; and a host of nieces, nephews, and a special god-son, Andreko Dunlap; and a honorary son, David Dunlap.

The Celebration of Life Service will be Friday at 11:00 at St. John CME Church in Pine Mountain. Burial will follow at Trinity CME Church, Durand.
