LaGRANGE – The Troup County Board of Commissioners are considering a request from the Parks and Recreation department to hire employees for two positions that were recently vacated.
The commissioners reviewed the request at their regular work session on Friday and plan to vote on the listing at their regular meeting on Tuesday.
“Both are part time, both are budgeted,” clarified County Manager Tod Tentler, during the meeting.
The department currently has several open positions that it is attempting to fill before spring sports get underway.
“We have multiple positions available within our recreation department,” said Parks and Recreation Director Cajen Rhodes. “Two of those are full time positions with benefits. If you know anybody who needs a job please send them to us. We are in dire need, and we need some good people, so please send them our way.”
The department needs two full time maintenance workers as well as the part time front desk clerk and administrative assistant that were requested during the meeting.
The commissioners also heard a request from the tax and tag office to replace an employee that has retired during the work session. The position is budgeted and the commission plans to vote on listing the position at their regular meeting on Tuesday.
