Try not to become a man of success. But rather a man of value. Albert Einstein
A few hours ago I had a young man come in wanting to buy a house. We rode around a little while and he is coming back tomorrow to look with his wife. As he was leaving I asked, “How did you come about asking for me?” His answer made my month. He said, “I asked around and everyone has such nice things to say about you! You give of your time and money for good causes.” The young man does not know how much I felt like saying, “That is one of the best things anyone has ever said to me.” You work your entire life trying to do the right thing and it only takes 30 seconds to ruin what you have worked so hard for. As a rule, I try to find the good in whatever I do each day and the good in people and leave them with a positive word. I often have people say, “You seem like you’re having fun. No, I am having fun doing my job. You say, “Jerry, everyone is not fun.” Yes, I tell some people up front they need another agent…. you cannot please everyone. Your tongue has no bones but is strong enough to break a heart. So be careful with your words. Author Unknown. It costs no more to be positive and look for the best in the people you are around. Always remember your word is worth more than money or gold, you can never get it back once you lose it.
