LaGrange soccer team stays hot

COLUMBUS – They keep streaking along.

The LaGrange Lady Grangers (10-3) made it nine straight wins with a 7-0 road victory over Hardaway’s girls’ soccer team on Wednesday.

It was also a winning day for the LaGrange boys’ team, which bounced back from Tuesday’s loss to Cartersville by beating Hardaway 3-1.

In the girls’ game, Maggie Asbell scored three goals for LaGrange, while Maddie Patton had two goals.

Caroline Thompson and Izzy Pippin each had one goal.

In the boys’ game, Robert Reese scored two goals, and Max Halcomb had one.

TENNIS: LaGrange had no trouble with Newnan on Tuesday, with the boys’ and girls’ teams each rolling to a 5-0 win.

No. 1 singles – Abbi Lynn Lanier beat Rachel McMahan, 8-0

No. 2 singles – Lizzie Wilkerson beat Makenna Archer, 8-1

No. 3 singles – Jina Shin beat Riley Vines, 8-0

No. 1 doubles – Jamie Livingston and Kaylee Key beat Mia Adams and Marissa Garland, 8-2

No. 2 doubles – Kelsey Anne Cadenhead and Lauren Yarbrough beat Lexis Butler and Haylee Wolf, 8-1

BOYS

No. 1 singles – Blade Kendall beat Al Robertson, 8-1

No. 2 singles – Pierce Skinner beat Jake Johnson, 8-5

No. 3 singles – Tony Choi beat Dev Lakwani

No. 1 doubles – Gavin Battle and Jackson Kuerzi bat Thomas Touchstone and Pearce Never, 8-1

No. 2 doubles – Will Hunnicutt and Tiger Lakhwani beat Robert Estes and Nathan Stewart, 8-5

GOLF: Troup High’s girls’ golf team finished third in the Par 3 Shootout at the First Tee facility on Wednesday.

Luella beat Lovett in a playoff to take the top spot after those two teams finished tied for first place at 158.

Troup was two shots back at 160, and LaGrange shot a 162.

A team’s top two scores counted toward the total.

The low medalist was LaGrange’s Blakely Arp, who shot a 72, and Troup’s Abby Taylor posted a 75 and finished second.

Caroline Blanks shot an 85 and was Troup’s second player, and Claire Alford shot a 90 for LaGrange.
