Troup gets 10th straight region win

TYRONE – The Troup Tigers handled the Sandy Creek Patriots 6-3 on Thursday to finish their region schedule with 10 straight wins.

Troup, which secured the region championship with Tuesday’s 2-1 win over Cartersville, finished with a 10-2 region record.

Troup got a strong pitching performance from Colton Greathouse, who went six innings and gave up three runs, although only one of them was earned.

Ryan Bliss finished it off with a scoreless seventh inning, and 10 of the 11 pitches he threw were strikes.

Colby Williams and Brantly Robinson each had two hits and an RBI for Troup, and Cooper Doughman also had two hits.

Jarred Helton and Ryan Bliss each had a hit and an RBI, and Ken Truitt had a hit.

Troup will be at home next week for the first round of the state playoffs.
