Mr. Roswell Owen Norris, Sr., passed away on April 19, 2017 in Alexander City, Alabama. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 24, 2017 at 1:00 pm at the Loyd Presbyterian Church with Dr. Rix Threadgill officiating. Interment will follow at the Shadowlawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the church from 12:00 PM until service hour. Survivors include his sons, Roswell Norris, Jr. (Teresa) of LaGrange, Mickey Norris (Serena) of LaGrange, Darrin Lee Norris (Lynsey Hester) of Thomaston, Dax Norris (Rene) of Miami FL;  sister, Willodean (Dean) Norris Turner; grandchildren, Hannah Austin and her husband Houston, Abby Norris, Trevor John Norris, Denver Norris, Dillon Norris, Zayn Norris, Zoey Norris, and Colton Norris; extended family and friends.  Mr. Norris was born on May 17, 1939 in LaGrange to the late William Obie Norris and Beatrice Cantrell Norris. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Shirley Norris Railey and Geraldine Norris Cadwell.  He proudly served his country in the United States Navy, followed by earning a Bachelors Degree from Troy State University.  The family would like to thank his caregiver, Dawn Tritt for the last seven years of service.
