NEWNAN – East Coweta’s hitters had no chance against Troup’s Colby Williams.

In the final game of the regular season, Williams threw a four-hit shutout to lead his team to a 4-0 road victory on Friday.

Troup, which won the Region 5-AAAA championship, finished the regular season with a 20-10 record, and it will be at home on Friday for the first round of the state playoffs.

Williams, the sophomore right-hander, was untouchable in Friday’s game.

Williams needed just 82 pitches to throw the seven-inning shutout, and he struck out six and didn’t walkt anyone.

Of Williams’ 82 pitches, 65 of them were strikes.

Troup scored two runs in each of the third and fourth innings, and that was plenty of support for Williams.

Jarred Helton had two hits and two RBIs, and Trent Bailey drove in a run with a sacrifice fly.

Williams had a hit, and Brantly Robinson walked and scored a run.
