Bessie Kate Truitt passed away Thursday at WellStar West Georgia Hospice.

She was born June 6, 1932 in Whitesville, Georgia to the late, Carey Smith and Everlina Cannon.

She became a member of Threats Grove Baptist Church where she remained until her death.

Survivors include her daughters, Ceola (Arthur) Hutchinson, Katie (Sullivan) Holliday, Katie Lampley; son, Ammil Truitt; grandchildren, Quintella Weaver, Aveshun Hutchinson, Shanovia Davis, Justin Lampley, Maurice (Monica) Lampley, Stacey Truitt, Latonya Truitt; twelve great grandchildren, one great great grandchild; sisters, Qeeda Burton, Ollie Dailey, Ethel Middleton; brothers, Jimmy (Gloria) Smith, Willie (Geneva) Smith; sister-in-law, Catherine Ray; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

The Celebration of Life Service will be Wednesday at 1:00 PM at Threats Grove Baptist Church. Rev. Larry White will officiate. Burial will follow at Southview Cemetery.
