COLUMBUS –  LaGrange High’s golfers made their presence known at the state golf tournament.

LaGrange’s boys’ team, after shooting a season-best score on Monday, finished 12th in Class AAAA, while Blakely Arp placed 11th as an individual in the girls’ tournament.

It was supposed to be a two-day event, but the action was wiped out on Tuesday because of the rain, so it became an 18-hole tournament.

In the boys’ tournament, the Grangers posted a team score of 318, which was their best score of the season, and it was the 12th-best score among the teams competing at Columbus Country Club.

Each team had six players, and the top four scores counted toward the team’s total.

“That’s really good for us,” LaGrange coach Thomas Crocker said.
