LAGRANGE – They’ll get to represent their schools one final time.

The Georgia Dugout Club Senior All-State games are set for Friday and Saturday at Georgia College & State University in Milledgeville, and two LaGrange Grangers and one Troup Tiger will be participating.

Players from across the state will be divided into four teams, and LaGrange’s David Sweat and Ben Anderson and Troup’s Jarred Helton will play for the Southwest team.

There will also be a Northwest team, a Southeast team and a Northeast team, and each team will play three games in a round-robin format.

First up for the Southwest team will be a game against the Northwest team on Friday at 1 p.m.

On Saturday, the Southwest team plays the Northeast team at 11:30 a.m., and the Southeast team at 4:30 p.m.

Sweat, Anderson and Helton each had outstanding senior seasons, and they helped their teams enjoy plenty of success.

Sweat was an outfielder, and Anderson was a pitcher and outfielder for a LaGrange team that reached the final four of the Class AAAA state playoffs before falling to Marist, which went on to win the state championship.

Sweat and Anderson have both signed letters of intent to play college baseball.

Anderson is heading to South Carolina to play for Furman University, and Sweat has signed with Marion Military Institute in Alabama.

Helton was an infielder and pitcher for a Troup team that won the Region 5-AAAA title and reached the second round of the state playoffs.
