Another big night at amphitheater

On Friday night, Sweetland Amphitheater held the first of three “Sunsets at Sweetland” events that will be held this summer. The most recent Star Wars movie was the main attraction and hundreds of people attended.
And why wouldn’t they?
The weather was picture perfect, the Star Wars movie is still new and many people haven’t had a chance to see it yet (plus, it’s worth seeing a second time). The movie was free to attend and gave families a chance to spend time together outside.
These are the kinds of events we could never get enough of in LaGrange. These community oriented events are so important when it comes to bringing our city together and getting a chance to meet new people.
Of course, the amphitheater figures to be busy again this Friday when country music star Vince Gill comes to town. As of Friday night, just about every hotel in LaGrange was booked for Friday night, and finding a room for the rest of the week wasn’t easy either.
We expect a huge crowd Friday and that’s a great thing for the city and Troup County as a whole. The amphitheater, now in its second year, is already being put to good use, not only for local events, but for concerts that draw people from all around the state.
We look forward to seeing a big crowd Friday night and can’t wait until the next Sunsets at Sweetland event.
