Suspect caught on tape breaking into business

LaGRANGE – One suspect was caught on tape breaking into the Chick-Fil-A on LaFayette Parkway Monday morning.

When police responded to a business alarm at that Chick-Fil-A, they found the drive thru window unlocked.

Upon inspection, officers found that the cash drawers were missing. The restaurant owner later said that the cash drawers would have been empty, though the drawers themselves were valued at $200.

LaGrange police officers responded to a call that a man was allegedly driving under the influence in the drive thru at Wendy’s on Vernon Road on Sunday night.

Officers observed a car weaving through parking spaces at that location when they arrived.

Officers discovered that the man had had both his commercial and non-commercial licenses suspended in November, and the suspect was unable to pass standard sobriety tests and was taken into custody.

LaGrange police are working to identify a man who was caught on tape steeling lottery tickets from the Summit gas station on Hamilton Road on Friday.

The man allegedly reached over the counter to take lottery tickets while the clerk’s back was turned. Eight tickets valued at $80 were found missing.

The suspect was identified as a black man between 30 and 35 years old weighing approximately 300 lbs. with a shaved or bald head.
