Second West Point shooting suspect turns himself in

Delani Scott, 38, was arrested by the West Point Police Department on Tuesday in connection to a shooting that occurred Thursday evening on the 1100 block of Avenue L.

Scott was arrested for aggravated battery, possession of a firearm by a felon and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, the West Point Police Department said in a press release. He turned himself into officers at the West Point Police Department Tuesday and was transported to the Troup County Jail.

The West Point Police Department said officers responded to a call Thursday night around 11:30 p.m. and found a male lying on the ground. The West Point EMS/Fire transported the man to West Georgia Medical Center, where he was treated for a single gunshot wound.

Deonte Scott, 22, who was also wanted in connection to the shooting, turned himself into police on Friday. Deonte was charged with aggravated battery and aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

The suspects are related and are uncle and nephew, according to the West Point Police Department.
