Mrs. Erma Lee Matheny Thrower, age 88, of LaGrange, passed away on June 14, 2017 at the WellStar West Georgia Hospice.  Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 16, 2017 at 3:00 pm at the Old Pathway Baptist Church with Rev. Sam Mitchell and Rev. Orman Harcrow officiating.  Remains will lie in state at the church on Friday from 2:00 pm until service hour.  Interment will follow at Shadowlawn Cemetery.  Family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6-8 pm at the Higgins LaGrange Chapel Funeral Home.  Mrs. Thrower was born on June 13, 1929 in Troup County to the late J.T. Matheny and Mary Potts Matheny.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Webster H. Thrower, a sister, Evelyn Thomas and an infant daughter, Patricia Faye Thrower.  Mrs. Thrower worked for many years at the Callaway Mills and spent later years as a homemaker caring for the needs of her family.  Survivors include her children, Brenda Diane Williams (Ricky) of LaGrange, Danny Thrower of LaGrange, Randy Thrower of LaGrange and Rayford Thrower (Angie) of LaGrange; siblings, Eula Mae Bowen, Bernice Arrington Bannister, Thomas Matheny (Eudonice), Nellie Poppham and Corene Usher; 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; extended family and friends.  On line condolences may be sent to the family at www.higginsfuneralhomes. com.  Higgins LaGrange Chapel Funeral Home, 706-884-7117.
