Steve Wayne “Buck” Pollard, 66, of LaGrange, passed away Wednesday, June 14, 2017, at LaGrange Nursing and Rehab after a brief illness.

Steve was born Tuesday, May 29, 1951, the son of the late J. B. and Alice Benefield Pollard.

He was born with Downs Syndrome and although a grown man, his child like qualities remained with him his whole life which endeared him to those who knew him.  His special needs never hindered him from living life to its fullest.  If Steve had any faults it was his love of Diet Cokes and watches; he never had enough of either.  He was a special guy who will be fondly remembered and sorely missed.

Steve is survived by his sister, Linda Robinson; his brother, Billy (Celia) Pollard; his sister-in-law, Nell Pollard; his two brothers-in-law, Don Laney and Joe Walden; and his buddy Roger Hood.  He was preceded in death by his five brothers, Gordon, Eugene, Henry, Roger and Raymond Pollard and his two sisters, Ina Mae Walden and Faye Lynn Laney.

The family will greet friends Saturday, June 17, 2017, at 1 p.m. EDT from Bluffton Funeral Services with the celebration of Steve’s life beginning at 2:00 PM EDT in the chapel of Bluffton Funeral Services.  Reverend Aaron McCullough will officiate.  Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Lanett.
