Lavonnie Faye Battle

Lavonnie Faye Battle passed away Saturday at her home.
She was born August 27, 1953, to the parentage of the late Mr. Willie Ellis Battle and Mrs. Velma Brewer Battle.
Lavonnie was a 1971 graduate of LaGrange High School; and later the University of West Georgia. Upon graduation, she obtained employment with the Lee County School System in Opelika, Alabama and remained until her retirement.
She invited the Lord into her life at an early age, and on her birthday in 2002 she was ordained Elder while at Faith Temple. Later, she became a member of First Baptist Church where she participated in their travel club until her health declined.
Survivors include two adopted children, Trevon and Tequila Battle; three sisters and one brother, Janice Elaine Battle, Eddie Lamar (Evelyn) Battle, Neatha Jean Battle, Alfreda Battle (Thairus) Epps, all of LaGrange, GA; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, and friends.
The Celebration of Life Service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church. Pastor Clarence Sams will officiate.
Burial will follow at Southview Cemetery.
